DG's Grocery List: The Full Haul


Trader Joe's is my go-to grocery store! I started shopping there in college. I would take a 45 min Uber with my roommates and load up on all the bargain goodies. Then I moved to New York City and took a 20 minute train and 15 minute walk (each way) to get to my closest TJ's. When my mom came to visit I took her on my grocery run and she questioned my dedication. Then she tried the french toast I made with TJ's brioche bread and immediately changed her mind. So, without further a due- my EXACT grocery list:

  • Fresh Flowers- Sunflowers are my favorite :) 

  • Organic Bananas- for my morning protein shake and oatmeal

  • Organic Spinach- also for my shake

  • Organic Broccoli- just because

  • All the Berries- especially now that it’s summer

  • Haricots Verts- aka fancy green beans

  • Rainbow Carrots- love a colorful plate

  • Mediterranean Style Hummus- I put the sh*t on everything

  • 300 Avocados- ok 8

  • Lemons and Limes

  • Asparagus

  • 3 Honey Crisp and 3 Granny Smith apples- one of my favorite pre-workout snacks

  • 4 Sweet Potatoes- I make a bomb sweet potato hash ;)

  • Garlic- so much garlic

  • 3 Shallots- fancy onions to pair with my fancy green beans

  • Yellow or Red Onions- depending on how I’m feeling

  • Multi-grain bread
  • Eggs- gotta have eggs

  • Kombucha- Golden Pineapple and Cayanade are my faves

  • 0% Plain Greek Yogurt- my inner child is in disbelief that I like this

  • French Vanilla Ice Cream- in case of emergency

  • Frozen Apple Tart- in case of a dire emergency

  • Frozen Sweet Potato Fries- guilty pleasure

  • Frozen Pad Thai- grab and go lunch #1

  • Frozen Butter Chicken- grab and go lunch #2

  • Frozen Panang Curry- grab and go lunch #3

  • Frozen Soycatash- my cheat day veg

  • Frozen Cauliflower Gnocchi

  • Frozen Mangos, Cherries, Blueberries, Peaches, and Strawberries- for my morning shake

  • Quick Steel Cut Oats- a staple breakfast for me

  • Coffee- light roast or bust

  • Peppermint Tea- my all time favorite

  • Crunchy Almond Butter 

  • Wild Alaskan Salmon

  • Organic Chicken Thighs- love me some dark meat

  • Smoked Salmon

  • Cheese- blocks, shredded, cubed, grated, creamed, all the cheese

  • Four Cheese Tomato Sauce- a perfect compliment to the cauliflower gnocchi

  • Rigatoni- a staple

  • Wild Rice- another staple

  • Jasmine Rice- for coconut rice

  • Quinoa- one more staple

  • Canned Coconut Milk

  • Smoked Paprika- my go to spice

  • Chili-Lime Salt- Mmm. Mmm. Mmm.

  • Red Pepper Spread with Eggplant and Garlic- the secret sauce. If you don't know, now you know.

  • Ginger Beer- Can you tell I'm Jamaican?

  • Wine- no explanation needed.
