Women's History Month Spotlight: Meet Danielle T. ✨

In honor of Women's History Month, we want to highlight some of the inspiring women in our #YGBCommunity!

Danielle T., Co-founder of YGB

Which women inspire you?

My mom is definitely one of my biggest inspirations. She's so much fun, is incredibly independent, and I look up to her even more now than before now that I have a daughter. All of the things I took for granted when I was younger I now understand took a huge amount of hard-work and sacrifice on her part to provide the life she did for my sister and I. And I'll be forever thankful to her for that. I love you momma!

How does it feel to be a Black, female entrepreneur?

Honestly, sometimes scary. As women, we have to work twice as hard to even be taken seriously. But I'm so lucky that I've been able to network with so many young, successful, female entrepreneurs that have inspired me to keep going after it because they believe in our product and know that it needs to be shared with the world!

What are some of your favorite books about empowering women?

We Should All Be Feminists, Chimamanda Adichie; Becoming, Michelle Obama; Men Explain Things to Me, Rebecca Solnit; and I love reading Little Ladies: Bold Women in Black History to my daughter.

What's your zodiac sign?

Gemini babyyyy! ♊️.

What is your favorite food?

Literally any iteration of fried rice! So yummy! 🍚

What's your go-to beverage?

Water, unless we're talking alcohol, then it's either a smooth red wine or a whiskey sour 🥃

How would your best friends describe you?

I think my best friends would describe me as hard-working and a go-getter! 🏃🏾‍♀️

Sneakers or heels?

Heels--they're the icing on the cake to a good outfit 👠

What are you reading/listening to?

I am currently reading More than Enough by Elaine Welteroth, and I'm listening to my friend Lisa's Unwineding podcast! 📖

What are your quarantine saviors?

Honestly, my quarantine savior is work, balanced with a healthy dose of skincare. Also keeping in close contact with my best friends has been a huge help! 👩🏾‍💻

What are you currently working on?

Always looking for ways to expand my business empire! 😉

Why do you love YGB?

YGB is an authentic way to discover and support Black-owned brands that you maybe weren't aware of previously. You receive a box of luxe surprises every other month! It's literally like a gift that keeps on giving! 💁🏾‍♀️

What do you want to see in the next YGB membership box?

I'm on a huge jewelry kick right now, so definitely some Black-owned jewelry! 💍
